Children’s Dentistry
What is Children’s Dentistry?
Children’s dentistry is specific to pediatric patients who are in need of routine and corrective dental care. At Langdon Dental, we want to be your family dental provider and are happy to work with children of all ages. We customize your child’s care so that they are receiving the dental treatment they need at every stage. The Canadian Dental Association recommends bringing your child 6 months after the eruption of their first tooth.
Why is Children’s Dentistry needed?
With routine preventative care, we can help to keep decay and other intra-oral problems at bay for your child. Certain preventative procedures can be useful for children who may not have the best brushing techniques. We’re here to help teach your child how to properly care for their teeth and what to expect as their parent or guardian. We offer many corrective and orthodontic treatment options for your child and teen as well.
What is involved with Children’s Dentistry?
Each child is different in what they’ll need to keep their teeth healthy. We help to monitor your child’s oral development and check for problems if they arise. Some of the pediatric procedures and treatment options we offer include:
• Preventative Care
• Dental Sealants
• Fluoride Treatment
• Orthodontic Treatment
• Fillings
• Root Canals
• Crowns
What can be expected at your child’s Dental Appointment?
We offer a toy box for children to play with before their appointment with us. This helps to keep their minds engaged and off of any fears or worries they might have. At every step of your child’s dental appointment, we keep language kid-friendly and avoid scary, technical dental terminology. Your child’s appointment will typically involve a cleaning with our hygienist and an exam done by Dr. Jess Chhokar. Our goal is to educate your child on how to properly care for their teeth while providing them with a variety of dental options that fits their needs.
If you are looking to make an appointment for your child and want to know more about our available pediatric options, call our office today and one of our helpful staff members will be happy to assist you.
All services are performed by a general dentist.
