What is injectibles or Botulinum Toxin?
At Langdon Dental, we utilize injectibles or abobotulinumtoxinA as better known as Botox or dysport, to treat a variety of dental and facial-related problems. We are able to utilize this treatment for restorative, corrective and cosmetic reasons. Most often, injectibles are used to relieve pain and stiffness related to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). It can be used to help treat gummy smiles, facial pain, uneven lips and bruxism (tooth grinding).
How is injectibles used in dentistry?
When most people think of injectibles they only think of the cosmetic benefits of the treatment. However Botulinum Toxin is successfully used in dentistry to treat a wide range of oral and facial-related problems. Some of the ways that Botox is utilized include:

• TMJ pain, discomfort and stiffness

What makes you a candidate for Botulinum Toxin?
Most patients who feel they would benefit from injectibles are able to have treatment performed. Before you are able to have injectibles treatment, we invite you to come in for a consultation. A series of photos prior to treatment will be taken. We will be able to answer any questions that you have regarding Botox treatment in our office.
What can you expect with treatment?
The treatment begins with a thorough consultation. The consultation involves discussing what you’re looking to achieve through injectibles as well as taking pictures of you before treatment is started. Botulinum Toxin is then injected into specific areas in the desired location. The effects of injectibles typically takes 2 weeks to have maximum effect in the area administered and typically lasts 3 -4 months. Additional amounts are provided after 2 weeks if needed. The process is easy and quick, and you can benefit from the effects of this revolutionary treatment.
